Removing the Cover - Inside - Nose - Left Side - Fuselage/Empennage - Right Side

Nose
Windscreen ----------------check Check outside borders and overall condition for damage  
Cowling & Screws --------check Verify all cowling screws are installed
Oil (Min 4) ------------------check  
Muffler -----------------------check Should be secure
Air Intakes & Cylinders --check Remove bird plugs and check over cylinder for debris
Alternator Belt --------------check Should be sure, with a little "play"
Propeller & spinner---------check Check leading edge of propellers for damage/cracks and spinner for missing screws, damage, or cracks
Air Filter (Cowl Scoop) ---check Check for tears and cleanliness
Nose Wheel & strut-------check/30psi Nose wheel tread, inflation
Chocks -----------------------remove Remove & stow chock - NEVER leave a chock behind or near the prop
Bottoms of Tires ------------check You can pull the plane forward to check for bald spots under the tires  



























Cowl Screws - be sure to check both sides - they are all there and not loose

Oil
   - Try not to pull the dipstick completely out - this way you're less likely to drip oil -
   - When you see the oil - rotate the dipstick in your hand until you see the numbers


When you replace the dipstick - DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!

Muffler
   - CAREFUL, the muffler may be hot, if the engine has just stopped running!
   - Shortly after, it will be cool enough to touch - verify it is not loose or cracked

Air Intake & Tops of Cylinders
   - Remove bird plugs
   - check for debris

Alternator belt
   - Alternator belt should be secure - with a little "play"

Propeller & Spinner
   - Check spinner for missing screws, damage, or cracks


   - Check leading edge of both propellers for damage/cracks

Nose Wheel
   - The tire tread should no white chord showing
   - Visually inspect the tire's sidewall for any pinching, which could indicate low inflation
       - When in doubt, use the tire pressure gauge in the aircraft to verify 30psi

Chocks
   - NEVER leave a chock near or behind the nose wheel!
   - Be sure to clear the area for debris that may damage the propeller - tow bars, chocks, rocks, etc.
